Itinerary
Arrival at Ashgabat International Airport and transfer to the hotel. After some rest, begin exploring the capital city with visits to national museums and the magnificent Turkmenbashi Ruhy Mosque. In the evening, enjoy a special Ashgabat Night Tour showcasing the city's impressive white-marble architecture illuminated after dark. Overnight in Ashgabat.
Day 2 – Darvaza Gas Crater
After breakfast and a short city tour, travel through the Karakum Desert to the legendary Darvaza Gas Crater, known worldwide as the "Door to Hell." Enjoy sunset views, dinner by the crater, and an unforgettable overnight stay in the desert.
Day 3 – Kunya Urgench & Night Train
Drive north to Kunya Urgench, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and former capital of the Khorezm Empire. Explore its historic monuments, mausoleums, and the famous Kutlug Timur Minaret. Continue to Dashoguz and board the overnight train to Ashgabat. Overnight on the train.
Day 4 – Old Nisa & Ahal-Teke Horses
Arrive in Ashgabat and visit Old Nisa, the ancient capital of the Parthian Empire and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Later, discover the world-famous Ahal-Teke horses, renowned for their elegance and metallic golden sheen. Overnight in Ashgabat.
Day 5 – Ancient Merv
Travel to Mary and visit Ancient Merv, one of the greatest oasis cities of the Silk Road and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the impressive ruins, including the Mausoleum of Sultan Sanjar. Continue to Turkmenabat for overnight stay.
Day 6 – Journey to Koytendag
Drive through eastern Turkmenistan towards the spectacular Koytendag Mountains. This remote region is famous for its dramatic landscapes, biodiversity, and untouched natural beauty. Overnight in Koytendag.
Day 7 – Dinosaur Plateau Exploration
Spend the day exploring the natural wonders of Koytendag. Visit the famous Dinosaur Plateau, home to some of the world's best-preserved dinosaur footprints. Enjoy mountain scenery and optional hiking opportunities in the Kugitang Mountains. Overnight in Koytendag.
Day 8 – Kerki & Domestic Flight
Depart Koytendag and travel to Kerki. Board a domestic flight back to Ashgabat and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure in the capital. Overnight in Ashgabat.
Day 9 – Kow Ata & Nohur Village
Visit the fascinating Kow Ata Underground Lake, famous for its warm mineral-rich waters hidden inside a natural cave. Continue to the traditional mountain village of Nohur, where unique customs and authentic local life have been preserved for generations. Proceed to Turkmenbashi on the Caspian Sea. Overnight in Turkmenbashi.
Day 10 – Yangykala Canyon
Explore the spectacular Yangykala Canyon, one of Central Asia's most impressive natural wonders. Admire its colorful red, pink, and white cliffs shaped by millions of years of geological activity. Return to Turkmenbashi and take an evening flight to Ashgabat. Overnight in Ashgabat.
Day 11 – Departure
Transfer to Ashgabat International Airport for your departure flight. End of the tour.
